Guillermo De Leon

Guillermo provides investment program advisory services to ultra high net worth families and family offices in the U.S. and Latin America. Over the last 18 years, Guillermo has managed a diverse set of portfolios for families and institutions incorporating a full range of traditional and alternative asset classes as well as efficient implementation tools including derivatives. In addition, he has advised clients in key areas of investment policy, asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment selection including co-investment and direct investment opportunities.
Prior to founding Blue Line, Guillermo was Director of Investments and Portfolio Manager at Salient Partners, L.P., a multi-billion dollar investment management firm based in Houston, Texas. During his tenure, he had investment oversight of multiple family office investment programs and had investment and operational oversight of a California-based public pension plan with assets in excess of $9 billion. His responsibilities included investment policy review and development, strategic asset allocation implementation, portfolio risk monitoring, investment manager oversight across traditional and non-traditional asset classes.
Formerly, he was Vice President of Investments and member of the Investment Committee at an alternative investments firm in Houston where he was responsible for investment analysis, sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management of the firm’s hedge fund-of-funds products and customized hedge fund portfolios.
Immediately before that, Guillermo was Vice President with Northern Trust Global Advisors, where he was responsible for providing investment program management solutions to high net-worth families and private foundations with combined assets of $2.5 billion. He was responsible for asset allocation strategy development and implementation, manager selection and oversight, and taxable portfolio rebalancing strategies. He specialized in structuring and overseeing customized hedge fund portfolios, manager due-diligence, portfolio construction, strategy allocation and oversight.
